Why Us?

A History of Caring Experience

Universal Care was set up in 1986 by  Chairman Peter Cullimore and his late wife Gillian. Peter was concerned that the only option for many people was to move into a residential home. He felt that forcing people to leave their homes just because they required care was both inconsiderate and unnecessary.
With this philosophy Universal Care has grown over the last 32 years and many of our clients have come to us as a result of personal recommendation. We are proud that our clients recommend us and this is firmly based on the caring nature and dedication of our staff.

The best environment for client and carer

We believe strongly that a happy worker makes a better environment for all concerned. For this reason, we’re very selective about the carers we employ and the standards which our staff maintain. Providing ongoing support and training, we ensure that all of our carers are happy, confident and able to provide the most comprehensive at-home care services. We encourage and support staff in attaining qualifications in care. In recognition of our commitment to our staff and the training they receive, Universal Care is an accredited Investors In People company.

While based in Beaconsfield, our daily care services are available throughout Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Hertfordshire, including locations such as Marlow, Aylesbury, Windsor, and Maidenhead. We provide live-in care throughout the South East.

What our clients say

“The live-in carers have been very professional but have been very compassionate and caring at the same time. I won't hesitate to recommend you to other clients.”
“They have always treated Dad with dignity, respect and humour and have been extremely tactful in how they have handled our Mum and her increasing needs.”
“The standard of care provided by our carer was excellent. This was also a slightly unusual situation in which the person requiring care was still living with her family. Our carer integrated seamlessly into our family and provided me and my dad with emotional support.”

Peter Cullimore - Chairman

Having founded Universal Care jointly with his late wife Gillian in 1986, Peter has continued with day-to-day involvement in the business. He believes that Universal Care’s success is dependent upon maintaining high standards by investing time and energy to ensure that the most caring carers are recruited and that the training of existing carers is regularly updated.
